On May 5, a global day of giving, DSAP started a new "Family Care Fund" to help local families who find themselves with an unexpected hospital stay. Our community showed up BIG and we exceeded our goal to help 25 local families and with your help, we can now help 26 local families! Thank you!

We are thrilled to announce our new Executive Director (ED), Meredith Peterson! As a visionary leader in the Down syndrome community, Meredith comes to us from the Down Syndrome Center of Western PA (DSC) where she has been serving as the Program Coordinator. She has been part of our board for several years as the chair of the education committee. Meredith has led our parent support groups, volunteered at events, and championed our vision. As Meredith has also been supporting our families in her role at the DSC, she will continue to do so as our new ED. Meredith is also a parent of a twelve-year-old daughter with Down syndrome and therefore understands the authentic needs that our organization strives to fulfill. We are looking forward to her leadership and how she plans to develop the organization to meet the growing needs of our community.
Please join us in welcoming her to her new role.
